Saint Louise House’s number one goal is to help you get back on your feet and to support you in the process of accomplishing your goals.
Irene’s Story
Irene and her children moved into Saint Louise House from a temporary shelter. Having escaped from domestic violence, safety for herself and her children was her top priority as she worked through a messy divorce, a custody battle with Child Protective Services involvement. However, Irene wanted more than just safety. Her dream was to own a home. Empowered by the support of her case manager, she took steps toward economic security – improving her childcare situation and finding better employment. While at Saint Louise House, she took advantage of every workshop, every program, and every referral we offered concerning home buying advice, buyer’s assistance, and the City’s matched savings program in order to make her dream for herself and her children come true. She was able to purchase a new home and graduate from Saint Louise House, completing her journey from homeless to homeowner.
