Beautiful desserts, gorgeous flowers and champagne created a wonderful environment for sharing the stories of Saint Louise House success!
Friends of Saint Louise House hosted its second Dessert Before Lunch fundraiser in late September at the home of Rhonda Paver in Northwest Austin. Guests were treated to assorted desserts, pastries and champagne followed by light lunch. The event started in 2011 as a way for a group of very committed Saint Louise House supporters to raise much needed funds for expansion while introducing some of their friends to our mission and work with families experiencing homelessness. While guests mingled and enjoyed decadent desserts and champage, they visited with volunteers and staff and learned more about the success of Saint Louise House families.
As in 2011, the event was completely underwritten by generous local merchants and donors. The University of Texas Texas Spirts provided additional assistance with set up, serving and clean up. Special guests included Bishop Emeritus John McCarthy and an appearance by St. Louise de Marrillac herself (Daughter of Charity, Sr. Pat Elder). The Friends of Saint Louise House continue to sweeten our existence with their ongoing support and commitment to our mission. The 2012 Dessert Before Lunch couldn’t have happened without the following individuals and local merchants:
